Hey Everyone! As I prepare to leave for the great continent of Europe, I felt as if the best way to keep in touch with family and friends would be through a blog. I hope to update this page every few days, so if you are ever feeling bored and would like to see the people, places, and things I'm encountering in Europe, surf on over to this page.
As some of you may or may not know, I have already been to Ireland. I was fortunate enough to visit London and Ireland in Spring 2007 with my family (the picture to the right is me just outside of Dingle, Ireland in 2007). After a small, one week visit to Ireland, I thought nothing but, "Wow! I've gotta come back and live here." So, as I applied to study abroad this past year, I could think of no place better to study at than Galway, Ireland.
Now. after a summer of long work days, early mornings, and plenty of hours, I have scraped and saved enough money to afford a modest four month trip to Europe and Ireland. I will depart this Tuesday night for London, and I cannot explain properly in words how excited I am. While I will be commencing classes on Sept 11 or Sept 12, I will be exploring a handful of Eastern European cities beforehand. My pre-Ireland trip includes a flight from London to Munich, a train from Munich to Vienna, a train from Vienna to Prague, and a flight from Prague to Dublin. My good friends Matt and Jimmy will accompany me on this great adventure. For now, however, I must prepare for my trip. I haven't even packed yet! mahalo.. -Thomas
